The new 72,700 SF facility is now open to patients and is dedicated to providing short-term mental health treatment services for youth and adults in Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe opening of this new facility marks a huge leap forward in mental health care for both adolescents and adults in the Kansas City area and beyond,\u201d JE Dunn Vice President Mike Comer said. \u201cIt\u2019s rewarding to see the culmination of everyone\u2019s hard work, knowing it will make such a difference for so many people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new inpatient mental health hospital features 48 youth beds and 24 adult beds in fully separate units, vastly increasing mental health care accessibility and treating an estimated 3,400 people a year. In addition to its treatment rooms, the campus offers six private courtyards, walking paths, and space for dining and activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost importantly, what we are going to do is address and help create the world of well-being that we aspire to create and ease some of that burden and some of the complications that these kids and the families that support them are dealing with.
